Installing Ubuntu 24.04 LTS in 15 Minutes – Clean & Simple Setup

Devices Used

  • Samsung Galaxy A15 5G

  • iPhone 13

  • HP EliteBook (already running Ubuntu)

  • HP All-in-One PC

Step 1: Create Bootable USB

On Windows, I:

  2. Used Rufus to create a bootable USB (GPT + UEFI)

Step 2: Install Ubuntu

  • Booted from USB (F9 on HP)

  • Selected Erase disk and install Ubuntu

  • Installed without internet

Step 3: First Setup

After installation:

  • Connected to Wi-Fi (worked instantly)

  • Printers were detected automatically

    sudo apt update
    sudo apt upgrade

Step 4: Minimal Desktop Setup

I customized Ubuntu to keep it simple:

  • Dock at the bottom

  • Only 4 icons:

    • Chrome

    • Files

    • App Center

    • WhatsApp

I installed Google Chrome manually using the .deb file and set it as default browser.

Cloud-Based Workflow

Everything I use runs in the cloud:

  • Google account (Gmail, YouTube, etc.)

  • Microsoft account (Word, Excel, OneDrive)

  • WhatsApp Desktop

No local files needed. The system works like a smartphone — simple, clean, and fast.

Final Result

  • Fully updated Ubuntu system

  • Wi-Fi & Bluetooth working

  • Clean interface

  • Ready in about 15 minutes

A fresh, modern Linux setup that works on almost any PC.
